Halloween 2003: Here are pictures of Michael and me dressed up to go to a party. |

I've been wondering what my problem is with Halloween. I really like it in theory, but I always find myself trying to figure out a costume at the last minute, and not really enjoying that part of it.
I love to dress up, but not as anything specific. Just for the fun of it. I want excuses to wear sparkly or striped tights, velvet and silk, all the time. I love Halloween because it's a really big reason to dress up. But I don't want to worry about people asking "What's your costume?". That can be a bit of downer for me. I just want to look good is all.
So, I end up with "costumes" like the one above. I dressed up and then I put this kitty-ears headband on, and even though that was the extent of it, no tail or face painting, no one asked me what my costume was.
Seems like every other year I do a vampire costume. Dress up, find my fangs, put on some white face make up and go. Fangs and white face go with anything. Instant vampire. Maybe I'll just stick with that from here on out and not worry about it.
