It was a pretty laid back day. I hate fighting crowds, so big 4th of July events really don't appeal to me. So, I slept in, and then met Artana for brunch at about noon. We picked up Michael at about 3 pm and went to see a matinee of Minority Report downtown. Good movie. Although we were suffering from a sugar crash about the time it got over, so we weren't as chatty as may have otherwise been.

We headed home at about 6:30 pm and invited Artana to come back to watch fire works with us later. I also called Mok to see if he might be interested in coming over too. He was.

Artana showed up with Spike at about 9 pm. Mok showed up about 20 minutes later. We sat and visited for a bit.

Spike is the Fiercest Chihuahua around.

Just look at those fangs!

Actually he's quite the push over. At least for Artana he is.

(Click on this picture for a nearly life size image of Spike.)

At about 9:45 pm we grabbed a couple folding chairs and headed for the roof. From there we could see both of the big fireworks displays in Seattle. One to the west over Elliott Bay and the other to the northwest over Lake Union. The latter is the better of the two in my opinion. It's been years since I tried to take pictures of fireworks. It's difficult and I find that I never look at them again, so now I just don't bother. Artana started to freeze so she headed home just before the end of the show.

I gave Mok this chicken as a late birthday present. I think he liked it.

P.S. See Spike in his Ether costume.
