I can't believe I broke it!

Can you believe it? I mean, look at it! It looks fine, right? Well, it hurt and if you 'really' look you can see a little swelling and discoloration, but I didn't think it was serious.

My mother finally convinced me that it would be better to be sure. So I went to the doctor and got it x-rayed. Low and behold, it's broken in there. At the joint where the big toe meets my right foot on the outside, or left side. Now you can say, 'Oh, yeah, it's a little green isn't it'.

I would have expected it to hurt more when it happened, but it didn't. The falling down part just made me feel like a clutz. I didn't realize that I'd even hurt it until I went to stand up. That was late Saturday, June 1st, and I just went to bed. I figured I'd see how I felt in the morning. Well, I woke up in the middle of the night with cold sweats and thought I was gonna vomit. I didn't, and it passed in 15 minutes or so.

I hobbled around for the next few days. I thought about going to the doctor, but didn't feel up to driving myself there. Dumb excuse, I know. But I just thought it was maybe sprained. What do I know?

A week later it wasn't much better so I finally went to the doctor. The doctor says it probably bled a lot under the skin. Which would explain the midnight episode I had. He also said it could take four more weeks to heal, and then up to two months beyond that to get all the mobility back. *Ugh* No dancing for awhile. If I can get a copy of the x-ray I'll add here.

For now I'll just hobble about for a few more weeks and miss out on the best part of the summer.
