I discovered Charles de Lint, the author, rather randomly in 1995. I was working near a mall, and didn't have anything to read one day, so I went to a bookstore to poke around for something interesting in the Fantasy and Science Fiction sections. I picked up the novel Into the Green and started reading it on my lunch break. Then I went home and finished it that same night.

I had to find out what else he had written. Whatever I could find I would buy, and the more I read the more I wanted to read. He very quickly became my favorite author. He is the only author I actively collect. *

Because I actively collect his writings, I started a notebook several years ago where I wrote down all the books I had of his, and then I started an alphabetical list of all of his short stories, and I would check off the ones that I had. I would take this to the book store with me, so that I would have a reference of what I had.

Then a couple of years ago I discovered eBay, and I would find anthologies that included a story of his, but the auction did not have a list of the story titles, so I would have to write the sellers and ask them or I would have to search de Lint's web site for the answer.

So next I added a list of all the anthologies he had stories in cross referenced with the story list I already had. Then I decided I might as well put all of this on my website here, since most often I needed to reference the lists when checking on auctions at eBay.

So, here are the pages I have created here about my collection of de Lint's writings:

Part 1: Books

Part 2: Anthologies and Stories

Part 3: Short Story Collections

These pages are by no means meant to be a complete bibliography. These pages are about my collection. For more complete information see Charles de Lint's Website. It's beautiful and interesting, so go there anyway.

*Michael Moorcock is the only other author I have ever collected.
