Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

This will be my first (aside from praising or griping about things to friends and family)

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. (Year 2) by J. K. Rowling

I enjoyed it. It is certainly aimed at a crowd younger then myself, but it is very well written in my opinion. Things are fleshing out since the first one, which was read to me last summer. These are very good books for reading aloud to a loved one. I know others who have done this as well. For an adult I think they are a refreshing break from the complex things we normally read. Things are very smooth and straight forward but not obvious. I did not spend my time thinking that I always knew what was coming next. On the contrary, I was so engaged that I didn't spend much time looking ahead, I just kept reading. Sometimes I would think the characters missed something kinda obvious, but then I would remind myself that they are about 12 years old and I can't expect them to think the same things are obvious that I do.

I highly recommend it.
